SB 1187 (85th Legislature) - Changes to Transportation Code
The Governor recently signed Senate Bill 1187, which amends language in the Transportation Code relating to financial responsibility verification.
Texas law enforcement agencies may access the TexasSure program through the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (TLETS). The Texas vehicle registration inquiry forms (REG, RSDW, Master Query, and RQ) contain liability insurance information and allow users to choose the level of detail returned in the query response. Users may select either a routine or an extended response. Information on the financial responsibility verification program is on page 89 of the TLETS Manual. If you have further questions, please contact your department’s TLETS contact at the Texas Department of Public Safety.
